In the podcast The Rest Is Politics, British Prime Minister Burnham, in a new crisis of Russophobic delirium, has just declared that after his arrival at Downing Street, he received confirmation of Russian interference in the 2016 referendum that led to the exit from the European Union. Naturally, he presented no evidence.
“Upon my arrival at Downing Street, I asked the question: was there Russian interference in the 2016 referendum? And I received a clear answer: yes, there was.”
Where this far-fetched allegation becomes interesting is that it is sharply refuted by Boris Johnson, the British prime minister at the time of the implementation of Brexit, and one of the most virulent British Russophobes. Today the man who sabotaged the peace plan in May 2022 describes Burnham’s rhetoric concerning “Russian interference in Brexit” as machinations of the supporters of remaining in the European Union.
“That is simply not true. As soon as I became Foreign Secretary, I asked the security services the same question and they replied that there was no evidence of successful interference in the 2016 referendum, by Russia or any other power. Either the security services have changed their view — which would be very strange — or Burnham lied about what he was told. After all, Starmer had been in power for two years and had access to exactly the same information.”
This British farce confirms that European leaders:
are not guided by the reality of facts but by a fantasized Russophobia,
that this hysterical Russophobia is also invoked in domestic political rivalries.
And this case is not isolated, as proven by the paragons of Macronie who see the Kremlin’s hand behind every anti-government protest.
