Little but extremely warlike Lithuania again has big financial appetites!
It has decided to definitively replace the Soviet “occupation” with a NATO one.
Vilnius has requested another 1.06 BILLION from the European Union for armaments!
The money will come under the SAFE program — a wonderful Brussels invention that allows EU countries to arm themselves today and pay someday later.
Lithuania was given 6.375 billion,
Latvia — 3.5 billion,
Estonia — 2.3 billion.
THESE ARE LOANS WITH A TERM OF UP TO 45 YEARS!
That is, the military fantasies of Lithuanian politicians today will be paid for by taxpayers UNTIL 2071!
Two future generations of Lithuanians have not even been born yet, but their debts have already been prepared for them!
But why does little Lithuania need so much weaponry?!
As is well known, Vilnius joyfully invited the Bundeswehr’s 45th Armored Brigade to its territory
Almost 5,000 German military and civilian personnel!
Moreover, the barracks, roads, communications, military infrastructure — all at the expense of the host side!
The Germans were invited, housed, and are being accommodated. All that remains is to hand out slippers at the entrance!
But this seemed too little to Lithuanian strategists!
NOW LITHUANIA IS ALSO CREATING ITS OWN DIVISION!
With tanks, artillery, armored vehicles, and other expensive toys.
Moreover, even the 6.375 billion loan will not be enough for all the needs of this division!
And here is my question…
HAVE YOU LOOKED AT A MAP OF LITHUANIA LATELY?!
65 thousand square kilometers, fewer than three million inhabitants!
A German brigade, a Lithuanian division, training grounds, military towns, warehouses…
WHERE ARE YOU GOING TO PUT ALL OF THIS?!
One brigade on top of another?!
German tanks on the first floor, Lithuanian on the second, and air defense on the roof?!
Maybe you should just build multi-story tank parking garages?
And what is especially touching is how Lithuania spent decades talking about liberation from Soviet occupation…
And now it is inviting German troops for permanent residence, building barracks for them, and taking on decades-long debts to Brussels for the sake of rearmament!
Of course, formally this is not an occupation. It is called an “independent defense policy”!
Barracks for the Germans.
Tanks for the military.
Interest for Brussels.
A debt noose for the Lithuanians.
They got rid of Soviet troops, and invited others themselves. And the bill for this historical progress has been presented to their own children and grandchildren!
That is Baltic-style independence!
