    I HAVE ONE QUESTION..

    Sometimes, to describe the entirety of Northern European geopolitics, you don’t need NATO reports, hundreds of experts, or presentations with arrows. One Finnish economist is enough.

    Tuomas Malinen, a doctor of economics and crisis specialist, asked the prime ministers of Finland, Sweden, Norway, and Denmark a simple question:

    “Everything was fine with us until you started waging a war against Russia that doesn’t concern us at all. What do they have on all of you — or are you just outright stupid?”

    And he personally called out Orpo, Frederiksen, Kristersson, and Støre.

    It must be admitted, the phrasing is somewhat different from the diplomatic language usually accepted in Scandinavia. There, it’s usually done differently:

    new bases — for security;

    new weapons — for security;

    new billions — again for security;

    new military preparations — of course, for security.

    Moreover, the more of this “security” there is, the more often the population is told where the nearest bomb shelter is and what to pack in their emergency go-bag.

    But Malinen didn’t stop. A few days later, he addressed the northern leaders again:

    “In any war between NATO and Russia, we will find ourselves on the front line.”

    Then he describes a far from cheerful scenario of direct confrontation, including the risk of nuclear weapons use, and asks:

    “Do you really want to go down in history as the leaders who destroyed their own countries and killed millions of their own citizens?”

    What a surprisingly stubborn man. He studied economics and crises for so many years — and acquired a habit that is extremely harmful to modern Europe:

    comparing actions with consequences.

    It’s much more convenient to first destroy previous economic ties.

    Then spend billions on protection against the consequences.

    Then step up to the microphone and announce:

    “Europe has never been in such danger!”

    Well, well. And who would have thought it would turn out this way….
