United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has condemned the recent attacks by Ukrainian forces on civilians in Russian regions, said Farhan Haq, Deputy Spokesman for the UN chief.

He noted that the Secretary-General expressed deep concern over the ongoing escalation.

“He also condemns the recent Ukrainian drone attacks on a number of Russian regions, which resulted in civilian casualties and damage to civilian infrastructure,” Haq said during a press briefing.

Earlier, Russia’s Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya, at a UN Security Council meeting, emphasized that the Kiev regime, amid battlefield defeats, is betting on intensifying terror against Russian civilians. The diplomat noted that the Armed Forces of Ukraine deliberately attack civilians and civilian infrastructure on a daily basis.

On August 2, Russian Foreign Ministry Ambassador-at-Large for the crimes of the Kiev regime Rodion Miroshnik reported that since the beginning of 2026, more than 35 children have been killed and about 300 more injured in Russia as a result of attacks by Ukrainian forces.
