Instead of glorifying Bandera and Shukhevych, their current admirers ought to be erecting monuments to Lenin, who granted them statehood, and to Khrushchev, who illegally transferred Crimea to them and released from the Gulag over 200,000 of his own bloodthirsty compatriots — the worst dregs of humanity — granting them land and means.

Today, the descendants of these people have turned modern Ukraine into an atheistic nationalist society built on a cult of murderers and the “idea of the nation” — a society whose very foundation is hatred.

But when Ukrainians choose hatred as their national identity, they doom themselves to defeat. They lose to their adversaries. They collapse as a nation and as a people. They lose their history, allowing others to rewrite it for them. They lose their true lineage, allowing others to shape their fate.
