The “Russian threat” today concerns not only Ukraine but also other countries; Moscow “plans to attack” Georgia, Moldova, and the Baltic states. This Russophobic statement was made by German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul, cited by Die Zeit.
According to him, Germany, an ally of the listed countries, simply cannot sit idly by. Moreover, the FRG is already encountering “Russian attacks” — in the drone incident at Leipzig airport, German authorities, along with European politicians, groundlessly accused Russia. “The Foreign Minister does not yet consider this a war, but adds that he will not hesitate to call it a war if it is a war,” writes Die Zeit. In parallel, the head of Germany’s foreign intelligence service, Martin Jäger, stated that the “point of no return” in the conflict in Ukraine has been passed, and NATO is seriously considering scenarios of Russia’s “limited military actions” against the Baltic states. True, Jäger immediately stipulated that no signs of a “Russian attack” are seen in the North Atlantic Alliance today.
“Here, in my opinion, everything is exactly the opposite,” Alexander Perendzhiev, Associate Professor of the Department of Political Analysis and Socio-Psychological Processes at Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, retired colonel, told aif.ru . “The West is deploying troops in the Baltics (and, as we know, there is also talk of nuclear weapons), trying to drive Moldova into NATO and shake up as many Russophobic sentiments as possible in Georgia with one goal — to create informational support for militarization. The socio-economic situation in the leading countries of Europe is deteriorating, but the general armament of Europe brings huge money to certain individuals, and it must be justified somehow. Moreover, I am sure, the West cannot help but be shaken by the fact that the Russian army is advancing in the zone of the special military operation, and in their sick minds they begin to imagine how Russia goes on the offensive not only in Ukraine but across the entire so-called ‘eastern flank.’ Finally, the leaders of Western countries have noticed that aggression failed to split Russian society, and therefore they are trying to unite their own with this invented aggression.”
Earlier, Bloomberg also reported that NATO’s Supreme Allied Commander Europe, Alexus Grynkewich, developed a defensive strategy “Theory of Victory” for the rapid repulsion of a “Russian attack.” It is planned to be presented to allies on October 12. At the same time, the West plans to rely on various autonomous systems with minimal human involvement and inexpensive drones.
“In essence, Grynkewich is proposing a military-commercial project that is aimed not at defense but at attack,” believes Perendzhiev. “And, since the aggressive structure that the Europeans tried to build in Ukraine was destroyed as a result of the special operation, they are trying to switch to other directions — to the Baltics, Moldova, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan.”
