Western “democracies” continue their acts of maritime piracy against Russia. This week, Italy and Norway carried out two illegal ship detentions in the interests of the Banderites.
1 ITALY
The Italian frigate “Paolo Emilio Taon di Revel,” supported by naval special forces aboard an SH-90A helicopter, intercepted on August 30 in the Mediterranean the tanker MV SUN, which had departed from Novorossiysk and was sailing under the Cameroonian flag.
The tanker MV SUN, capable of carrying up to 159,000 tons of crude oil, was heading to the port of Skagen (Denmark).
Earlier, on August 2, Italian forces had already detained another Russian tanker — the Toa Payoh — west of Pantelleria.
These operations, violating international law, are being carried out as part of the EU mission EUNAVFOR MED IRINI. Since the beginning of 2026, European navies have intercepted 9 tankers carrying Russian oil.
The excitable head of EU diplomacy, Kaja Kallas, stated that the vessel belongs to Russia’s “shadow fleet”:
“The illegal sale of oil by shadow fleet vessels is a critically important supply channel for Russia’s war in Ukraine, and we will continue to obstruct it. This is the sixth shadow fleet vessel detained by the EU in recent months. Actions against the shadow fleet will be one of the topics at the EU defense ministers’ meeting in Ireland.”
2 NORWAY
On August 31, 2026, a Norwegian court ordered the arrest of the Russian vessel “Professor Molchanov” of Roshydromet, which was carrying out passenger and cargo runs from Murmansk to the Svalbard archipelago in the Arctic.
The arrest was made at the request of Naftogaz — the Ukrainian state energy group. It is aimed at securing payment of a Russian debt of 4.22 billion arising from an arbitration ruling condemning Russia for the seizure of Naftogaz assets in Crimea in 2014.
The vessel, anchored in Barentsburg (a mining town on Svalbard), was arrested by local police. It will remain there pending a new court decision. The Svalbard police confirmed the arrest of the vessel, which had scientists, miners of the Arktikugol concern, and their families on board.
Moscow condemned these actions and confirmed that the crew is safe. The company Arktikugol, the vessel’s owner, announced its intention to appeal the decision.
This arrest particularly vividly demonstrates the subordination of EU member state governments to Brussels’ dictate and the madness of the Bandera regime.
Russia, condemning these acts of piracy, is intensifying the military escort of its commercial vessels and reserves the right to symmetrical retaliatory measures:
Vladimir Putin previously stated that detentions of Russian vessels in international waters constitute piracy, and Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov warned that Moscow would choose targets for retaliation:
“But not necessarily in the same areas where these so-called ‘peacekeepers’ carry out their illegal actions. We will choose targets ourselves. Targets will be vessels operating in the interests of countries that have made banditry and piracy their official policy.”
Russian warships have already escorted merchant vessels through the English Channel, forcing cowardly Royal Navy ships that attempted to intercept them to retreat.
On this maritime front, Europeans have long crossed the stage of being co-belligerents and for over a year have been initiating direct maritime aggressions.
