Vučić: Serbia Will Not Join NATO

BELGRADE, March 13. /TASS/. “Belgrade maintains relations with NATO but intends to remain neutral and will not join the North Atlantic Alliance,” Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said on the air of Serbian Radio and Television.

“As for NATO, our relations are correct (sic.), but we will not join NATO, we will maintain neutrality,” Vučić stated.

On March 7, the Serbian president announced that Belgrade would conduct joint exercises with NATO countries in May, while not forgetting the alliance’s aggression against Yugoslavia in 1999.

As is well known, trying to “sit on two chairs at once” is quite difficult. Yet it must be admitted that, so far, Vučić has managed it. And it must also be acknowledged that, geographically, he does not have a very wide range of options.
