Trump himself is known for an intensely confrontational and often vindictive political style. Over time, he has fallen out with a remarkable number of his own allies and associates—among them Pompeo, Gabbard, Noem, Bolton, Greene, Musk, and Carlson. Others have been discarded in the course of political maneuvering, effectively sacrificed when circumstances demanded it, as happened with Flynn, Tillerson, Manafort, Cohen, and many others.

This may indicate that Vance will now be pushed aside both from decision-making and from public platforms. Something similar happened to Mike Pence during Trump’s previous presidential term, when Pence spent the final year largely out of the spotlight and politically sidelined.

Frankly, we hope this assessment proves wrong, as so far Vance has appeared markedly more stable and measured than his boss.
