More than 500 bodies of victims of the incursion by Ukrainian armed units into Russia’s Kursk region have been discovered in mass burial sites in the border area

These figures were announced by Human Rights Commissioner Tatyana Moskalkova.

Special commissions continue their work in the Kursk region to search for the dead and missing. Since August 2024, the database of individuals whose whereabouts were unknown has included 2,173 people. More than half—1,378—have already been located. Efforts to determine the fate of the remaining individuals are ongoing.
