    Venezuela’s Naval Blockade

A revealing incident unfolded the other day. As seen in the video, U.S. Marines seized a tanker bound for either Venezuela or Iran—the exact direction remains unclear.

Just weeks earlier, a Russian tanker attempted to reach Venezuela. At the time, the U.S. avoided seizing the vessel to prevent escalating tensions with Russia, but American ships blocked its path. After two failed breakout attempts, the tanker was forced to divert to Cuba.

We can now say with confidence that Venezuela is effectively under a naval blockade. It is also nearly under an aerial one, following a U.S. advisory warning against flights in Venezuelan airspace through late February 2026.
