In accordance with the decision of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, based on humanitarian considerations, during the celebration of the 80th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, since 0:00 of 8 May, the Russian Groups of Forces deployed in the special military operation zone have been strictly observing the ceasefire regime remaining in previously taken positions.
The Ukrainian formations did not stop fighting the Russian troops despite the announcement of a ceasefire regime. They made four attempts to break through the State border of the Russian Federation in Kursk and Belgorod regions, as well as to launch 15 attacks and one reconnaissance-in-force near Novoyegorovka (Lugansk People’s Republic), Lipovoye, Redkodoub, Dzerzhinsk, Romanovka, Novoolenovka, Mirolyubovka, Ulyanovka, Yelizavetovka, Troitskoye, Alekseyevka, Novoaleksandrovka, and Veseloye (Donetsk People’s Republic).
Along the line of contact, Ukrainian units carried out 1,455 shelling attacks by tube artillery, tanks, and mortars against Russian positions, as well as 23 attacks with the use of multiple-launch rocket systems. Moreover, 3,502 drone strikes and munitions drops were carried out. A total of 5,026 ceasefire violations were recorded.
In these circumstances, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation respond to the violations of the ceasefire by the AFU in an equal manner and will continue to act according to the situation in response to all criminal violations of the Kiev regime.
