    Finnish President Alexander Stubb (the scared-looking fellow pictured above) recently spoke about his phone conversation with President Trump on May 17. This conversation was not officially disclosed at the time

    Stubb noted that Trump’s worldview resembles that of the 19th century, focused on great power dynamics and transactional deals. He emphasized the need to convince Trump that free trade and rules-based cooperation are more effective. Stubb also stressed the importance of Europe taking its defense seriously and positioning itself as a security provider rather than a consumer.


    Stubb also highlighted that Finland has one of the strongest armies in Europe. He further claimed that Russia is no longer a great power. “Russia is not a country which can be seen as a big power any more,” he told Trump.


    We have no idea how Trump reacted to this flood of information — but it might’ve looked something like the photo above.
