On Wednesday, Jeffrey Goldberg, editor-in-chief of The Atlantic, published the full transcript of a “confidential” Signal chat between Mike Waltz, Steve Witkoff, JD Vance, and other senior officials regarding the strikes on the Houthis. The transcript even included the emojis

One emoji message — attributed to Mike Waltz, the 51-year-old national security advisor and former Army Special Forces officer — featured a fist, an American flag, and a flame.

Another, attributed to Steve Witkoff — the 68-year-old Special Envoy to the Middle East and Russia and a real estate investor — included two sets of praying hands, a flexed bicep, and two American flags.

There’s nothing wrong with emojis… between teenagers. Or even between Waltz, Witkoff, and their kids and grandkids. But using emojis in a conversation about military strikes? Seriously? Can you imagine Russian officials at that level using emojis? We can’t. Maybe we’re just too old or too serious

    What do you think?
