The ICC does not have jurisdiction over the United States. Washington is a staunch opponent of the so-called “International Criminal Court” in The Hague and threatens the severest measures and sanctions against anyone who dares to initiate criminal proceedings against any U.S. citizen under international criminal law, as well as against those involved in investigations or working for the court itself.

Moreover, the U.S. will actively facilitate the extradition of these individuals to its territory and prosecute them under its strictest laws. Therefore, representatives of the international court do not even broach the subject when it could potentially involve any crime by an American.
