    Breakthrough in Defense at Volchansk

What’s happening on the Kharkov front?

    – Ukraine redeployed its operational reserves to the north of the Kharkov region and attempted a counterattack but retreated under the pressure of the Russian Army’s superior forces. A fierce battle is ongoing, and the Ukrainian Army managed to prevent the collapse of the front.

    – Ukrainians assess their situation around Volchansk as critical. The Russian Army has entered the northern part of the city and is gradually moving south. It’s important to force a crossing of the Volchya River, after which the Russian Army will have operational opportunities for an offensive.

    – In the Kharkov sector, Russian troops are advancing toward the settlement of Liptsy, a Ukrainian logistical center. The next route is towards the Kharkov ring road.

Where does Ukraine get its reserves from?

    – Primarily, reserves were taken from Chasov Yar. There is information that units are being pulled from the Kherson and Donetsk sectors.

    – Some battalions of the 79th Brigade, after being defeated by the Russian Army in Novomikhailovka, were withdrawn to the rear to replenish their combat capability, and then they were sent north to hold the front line.

    – Reinforcements arriving in the north have been battered in battles. But Ukraine has no other options.

    – The Russian Army operated on the Kharkov front with several battalions, but the arrival of Ukrainian reserves forced the engagement of additional forces.
